I noticed the other day that the signs on both Gilmer Rd and 12 had been changed from Volo Lakes Crossing to Volo Village Marketplace. So I went surfing and some renderings are now posted!!!

Hey there. As a follow up to my post about Volo Commons, I just ran into this update from Tucker Development who is doing the Shops at Lakemoor. Ironically, the maps and site plan says they're also getting a Best Buy, Toy Store, discount department store, Chase Bank, etc. Now maybe I see why Volo's President said there's not a need for both places, because it looks like the exact same plan with the exact same stores they want to have. I understand both villages want these major developments and are in big time competition with this project, but it seems there's a need for the villages to work together to ensure there's a solution in place so when both places are built, there's a wide range of different tenants to bring in the maximum sales profit to both Volo and Lakemoor. The bottom line is it's critical that both are successful if either of the centers are to live up to what the potential for the area is. They also reference there's a 1% tax advantage in Lakemoor over Volo for tenants to sign there instead.
